We also have virtual mentoring options now!
The basics
The children (Littles) are between ages 6 and 18 (but must enter the program before turning 14). Some of our youth have situations in their lives that result in them needing/wanting an extra person for support and/or guidance... an everyday hero.
The mentors (Bigs) are ages 16 (site-based only until at least 18) or older. They commit to being a Big for a year(minimum) and to spending an hour each week with their Littles.

The process
Everyone (Littles, Bigs, and parents/guardians) applies; they are interviewed (and the Bigs are screened with references and background checks). Additionally, everyone is trained.
Our part
BBBSTV staff members are an ongoing part of the matches. They provide support through ongoing contact with all matched parties, crisis intervention (if needed), guidance, resources, and continued education opportunities for Bigs. They also facilitate match activities that allow matches to build support networks and experience things they may not have access to on their own.
